From Bali to Miami,
From Cape Verde to St. Tropez. Hair gets lighter,
Skin gets darker,
Water gets warmer,
Drinks get colder,
Music gets louder,
Nights get longer,
Life gets better, Welcome to the endless summer,
Welcome to Buddha Bar Beach”
‘George V’ is certainly a well-known name for Buddha Bar fans. The record label, home of the Buddha-Bar, Siddhartha, Little Buddha, and other compilations that have long graced the atmosphere of the world-famous Buddha Bar Restaurants around the world, and eventually extending into lounges (Siddhartha Lounge), spas (Buddhattitude), hotels (Buddha-Bar Hotel) and nightclubs (Bushido) have long been synonymous with outstanding music. It seemed that there was no place left that remained untouched by the magical beats of Buddha-Bar. Except perhaps… the beach!
As such, 2014 sees the first-ever release of the ‘Buddha-Bar Beach’ music series. Created by Buddha-Bar/George V Records along with French Radio station FG, another musical gem for all of Buddha-Bar music fans and great-music lovers has arrived, right on time to add more sunshine and style to trendy beach-side hangouts.
Buddha Bar Beach, ‘Ibiza’ is a compilation especially devoted to create a signature ‘Buddha’ atmosphere that now goes to the outdoors to join the beach-going crowd with a refined mix of beats that bring a feel of sophistication to the atmosphere where cocktail-sipping, pool-partying, summer-loving people gather in this season. Already having beach-side launch parties at Nikki Beach St. Tropez, and others in Barcelona, Ibiza, St. Barth’s and other summer hot-spots worldwide as part of the “Endless Summer Tour 2014”, summers were just hot.. now they’re also trendier!
“Welcome to Buddha Bar Beach” is the introduction that indeed welcomes you into the 15-song album. Starting with the loungy beats of Beat Les’s “Miss You” remixed by the amazing Christos Fourkis, the set goes on to keep building a great atmosphere comprised by great tracks of electro-lounge and balearic-house influence. Tracks like Ben DJ’s “The look of love (original mix)” and Tube & Berger’s “Lovebreak” continue to build-up fabulous vibes that can certainly set the mood for a great summertime party.
As the album progresses, the beats continue to move on towards a more house vibe. Caruso’s ‘Tumaco (Original Mix)’ in my opinion is another of those signature tracks that will certainly make those sandy-feet of beach party-goers move more and more!
I’d say this is a really enjoyable album to listen to. Well constructed and varied-sounding, it has the potential not only to grace beach and pool summer parties, but also creating a great atmosphere indoors.
The ‘endless summer’ may (sadly perhaps) not be endless indeed but I believe Buddha Bar Beach series will certainly last for much longer. It makes great material for this and many more summers to come, and even more.
The summer may end, the sun may shine a little less and the water will eventually get cooler. Fortunately, the music will remain!
